Tis the other M word we band for.

I loved my 70 Charger, I wanted a Big Block mopar but I only had a Small Block chevy budget
I think we all love our first cars but having one your father restored would be awesome.

I have owned a 1st gen (69) and now a 4th Gen. Several friends in high school had 2nd gens. Also owned a 98 Mustang. So here is my purely personal view.

late 2nd gens were the cool cars back in the day. Now those that admired them are in mid-life and can indulge in the cars of their youth. If I came across the right 2nd Gen Z28 (silver with orange stripes) I might just bring it home. They weren't built that well as I recall, but hey they were the cars of our youth and we have money for toys.

I bought the 4th gen because it's a comfortable weekend car with T-tops. Might give it to my son when he starts driving.

The 4th gen against the Mustang is no comparison, that's why I sold the Stang and it was a conv.

As for why I got rid of the 69, I decided to build a 54 Belair.

I have owned a 78 TA (Strip sbc 355), which to me qualifies as a 2nd gen, even if it isn't a Camaro, currently own an 84 Z28 (well built 305) & just obtained a 96 Z28 LT1. If attention is all that matters, then my 78TA was the most popular. If ease of working on a car & daily drive ability was all that mattered, then my 84. I must admit that the stock power of the LT1 is way better the my 84 & now I'm taken turns driving both Camaros with a slight edge to 96. I never thought much of the 4th gen looks, but picked this up this Z28 in trade & it has grown on me fast. It's white with black hockey stripes on front fenders, 17 eagle alloy wheels, etc. My wife tries to take it to work instead of her 05 CTS v6 as she likes it better LOL. I enjoy the way my 84 handles better, but this one is close. any ways, just wanted to chime in
