3rd Generation refers to 82-92 Camaro/Firbird model year cars, NOT to any phyical age GAP. Now do you understand.

Yeah well then what Generation would you say the LT1 350 Engine is?

How about the L98 350 Engine?

Do you still call an L98 350 TPI Engine a 3rd generation motor?

Generation, in this case, refers to body/chassis style. When referring to engines it is a different story unrelated to body styles.

Yeah buts that’s just an assumption you guys make because GM changed the body style. The engines are how your refer to them. This generation crap you claim is not endorsed nor recognized with GM.

The 1997 was the last of the LT1 equipped Generation two vehicles. The rear ends and suspension are almost the same from 1986-2002 and it’s still considered and F body.

Where may I ask have you got GM saying that the LT1 Equipped vehicle is a 3rd generation car Or even worse yet that the TPI equipped vehicle a Generation III?? Hell generation III is the LS1 but the body is still basicly the same!

Why don’t you just make things right by renaming this forum L98 350 TPI as you fan-faired the hell out of the LT1 forum? How come you didnt call the LT1 Forum the Generation 4 forum? It would have been just as out of place as calling this the GEN3 forum! The only Camaros/Firebirds/Trans-Ams that were worth a damn were equipped with the GEN II TPI L98 and GEN II LT1 Engine.

Hmmmm...... Something needs to get fixed.

Shesh!

You need to get fixed. You should not have children!
Imagine this guy in a Corvette forum trying to explain his ways of figuring the designations C1 through C6 is wrong.
You look in any bit of literature and these cars will be refered to in this sort of manor. So this forum is only following the standard practice that has been used for years. Maybe even since before you were born.

Like I said... Nothing to back ya. GM does not refer to the 1986-1992 Fbody as Generation III

They call it the 1986-1992 F-Body with the Generation II L98 350 TPI Engine

Dont get upset, it looks out of palace as all hell mixed in with forums like LT1 and LS1.

Dont spread ignorance...

Dont ever say that no one told you so.

Generation should only be referred to when speaking of motors. That’s why these vehicles have years and chassis letters.

I just thought I would make mention of it. Take no offence.

Although the theory sounds reasonable, it’s just not used/endorsed by the true enthusiast. I am very surprised someone has not made mention of this until now.

This new member to this form ask a question and receives very satisfactory replies. Now he comes back like a know it all idiot and trys to answer his question his own way. My opinion is to close this topic and let him think whatever he wants.[sm=chairshot.gif][sm=closed.gif]
