they didnt work at all. the first one was sending a signal to the coil, but nothing going to the plugs, and the second one didnt do anything. and i know its not a wiring problem because and then put my stock one back in, and that one works. im really getting pissed.

Sorry to hear that. That is a pain, to spend money for stuff that doesnt work. You should call the company and ask for a refund or new one or something.

did you get just the cap and rotor or the actualy distributor with it. because i think my opti is dead in my car and i just need a cap and rotor that will start the car and make is run say ten miles just to see if it really is the problem. im pulling a 16 code. what were the names of the sellers you bought them from cause ive found them ranging anywhere from 150 to 30 bucks and im kinda tempted to just get the one for 30 if it will make my car start and run a long enough to put an obd1 to it.

No the late version wont fit, the later ones were spline drive i think, and the earlier ones were gear driven or something like that. I dont remeber exactly what it is but they will not fit. You can find gen 1 LT1 distributors that have the vents, I believe napa had them for 320$ when I had mine Z-28.

ive been buying complete opti's, dont buy the cheap ones one ebay. they are junk. not worth pulling the front of you motor apart, putting it back together all for nothing. if you want to run the vented opti, you need the LT4 timing cover, lt4 cam gear, i think balancer, and maybe more.
