I have a 2002 camaro with 60000 miles my fuel pump went out and I replaced that along with the fuel filter.
the new pump is working but the car still won't start ?
could there be air in the line from the new filter ? what do I do ?

The pump should purge any air out within a few seconds, Have you tested the fuel pressure with a gouge, verified that the injectors are being pulsed, and checked for spark?
How did you conclude that the pump was bad?

Checked power at pump wires for voltage and it was good but fuel pump would not come on. I even took a line off and no fuel came out. Checked the relay and it was good. I'm really at a loss. I checked the spark and it was good. When my son called me it would actually run a few seconds and then die like it was running out of fuel.

Did you have this problem before you decided to change the pump? If not....
Get a fuel pressure gauge for $20 at the local parts store.
If your not getting pressure after you prime the lines by turning the key, check the electrical connections and fuel line fittings. If everything looks correct I would assume it's the pump and I would get a replacement and go from there.
Fuel pumps can be damaged durring shipping so you never know.
If you had the problem before and you know you have spark, check every part from the pump to the injectors.
