Fuel Pump Question
Ok so my '94 Z28 with 30k on my new engine has this issue, only happens when I drive around a lot, freeway or in town, and when it is hot outside. I'm talking temps around 100 and humid. Monday I drove it about 100 miles, hot outside, came off the freeway and headed home obviously at slower speeds. I could hear the fuel pump kick in and shortly thereafter the car died. If I tried to start it the fuel pump would kick in and it would not start, like it's sucking air. You could smell the gas fumes in the car and I took the gas cap off and got a loud suction noise. I waited about 10 minutes and it started right up. This is the second time in a week it has done this, pretty much the same scenario. It is my daily driver and takes me to work about 40 miles per day. I have no problems with this otherwise.

Thanks for the info, and yes I believe it is the original fuel pump. I've had the car 2 years and have not replaced it in that time period. Just the engine, water pump, radiator, hoses and such to get the 3 year unlimited mileage warranty.
