fuel pump connection to vapor can
I saw some great ideas on the hatch for removing a fuel pump.

Questions:
Were tin snips strong enough or did you use a saw?
How far do I need to cut till the end of the the hard pipes? I have a leaking hose to my vapor canister. I did a smoke test and the leak is above the fuel tank somewhere. Probably a worn out hose as other connections have failed on this system.
Also what type of sealant did you use to attach the new hatch?
Thanks for your help!

When I did my 3rd gen, I used an air cut off tool for a clean cut. Cutting with the tank so close to the floor while throwing sparks made me nervous, so I lowered the tank a little and stuffed a water soaked towel on top of the tank. That picture in the link you put shows everything and has the dimensions, so I don't know what else you need to know?
I made a cover with another piece of sheet metal, pre-drilled the holes, and used that as a template for the floor holes. Then put clear silicone adhesive around the opening, and screwed the cover down.
