Cool Front suspension

Is a spring-compressor required when replacing the lower A-arm, control arms on this hot-rod. Haven't started the project yet, but am thinking it is required.
Thanks,
COPCO

What's "this hot-rod" mean? I don't think that it's required. I needed a spring compressor when i replaced the springs with lowering ones. But if I just wanted to take apart all the front suspension I would have not needed one. On my 2001 V6 Camaro the coilover assemble came out in one piece and like I said... it didn't require a spring compressor.

chewybacca11,
Thanks for the reply. My bad - I forgot to mention it's a 94 Z28. I haven't actually seen it yet but my son said his girl-friend hit a curb and it bent the "thing down below where the shock fastens." They were calling it a control arm. Whatever got bent wore the tire into the belts in a heart-beat.
Thanks, again.

If the suspension is at all similar to my 01 V6 I would say that it's not a problem... Good luck

takes quite a bit to bend the control arm, better look the rest of the front over to make sure theres not more damage like upper control arm and tierods,

No spring compressor required.
Depending on where you live (rust belt) you'll have problems with the LCA rear bolt. It seizes in the bushing sleeve and can be unbelievably hard to get out. Like drilling and grinding required... The bolt has a swaged-on tab at the top to keep the bolt from turning so that makes it even harder to break loose. Hopefully you won't have the problem but...

What he said. I do not think the control arm is the weak link in this setup. There is about a 90% chance that you going to have other parts that need replaced. Hopfully the frame has not been tweaked.
