Default Finaly! it runs again, whod a thought!

Sorry guys, hit the wrong button! Hope this fixes the blank post------------here goes

Bought a 96 z-28 for the son--soon to be 16 ----anyway drove it home, parked it, it sat untouched for a couple of weeks, when I went out to start it the darn thing would crank but not fire up, the check eng. lite was on when we bought it but it ran pretty good, anyway I bought a OBD II reader to check the codes (figured it was a good thing to have anyway) got codes P0300 and P0400 ---missfire and egr ----back to the no fire thing-- I chanded plugsand wires to no avail, thought maybe the coil---parts guy said check ign module first---tested bad so I replaced it, didnt help, after a couple of weeks of reading the gm manuals and so forth I'm about to loose my mind on this thing, was going to start testing every thing with an ohm meter so I pulled off all the ductwork upto the throttle body but couldnt figure anything out and was going to put it back together! I decide to give the throttle body a little shot of starting fluid which I had done through the duct work a couple of times before with no luck, anyway pushed the throttle body open shot the either and hit the key------Fired right up and starts every time with the key now, what the devil could have caused this?
Cleared the codes and drove the car for a while and it reset the same codes but I read that the PO400 (egr) can cause the PO300 (random missfire) code to set--- have a receipt where the egr had a leak repaired before I bought the car and figure it wasnt fixed right, especialy because the intake also was leaking oil in the back and supposedly fixed but still is leaking-- someone charged the previous owner over 300.00 to fix these things, someone got scwed--------me! I'm just happy its running again before I dumped lots of money in it for no reason, like a new opti-spark and so forth that it doesnt need!

Also I read in one of the post on this site that Bosch plugs (which of course is what I put in it) are crap! any info on this? Also I also saw on the GM part site that A/C #3 rapid fire plug is made for the 96 LT1 engine any experience with this plug?

Thanks for any input
