few quick questions???
with 4.10s like alek said you sacrafice top speed for acceleration... But you do know that you get worse gas mileage on short around town trips than on the freeway. I drove over an hour and a half and barely wasted a quarter tank. Its the stop and go of the city that makes gas mileage suck in our cars.
ok i didn't know that those gears would limit my top speed that much so know for sure i know im going with 3.73's thanks for the extra info. By the way how much will 3.73's limit my top speed?
top speed has been reported to get up to 170.. of course they had alot of computer restrictions removed.
As for 3.73 gas mileage 16-17 city 20-22 highway (also reported and thats on a relatively stock car w/ bolt ons and the gears)

They are all right but imo I like 4.10's.... I have them in my camaro and yea gas is a little worse but it was not as bad as i figured it would of been. Also I have a auto and its fine on road trips unlike my mustang that had 4.56's with a c4 3 speed. lol It was strikly 8th lol
Yeah, honestly gas isnt that bad as long as you dont drive like the fast and the furious (speed up to the speed limit or above and then when it comes time to stop brake at the last second). 4.10s are great for acceleration and if you want em get em, but if you ever plan on going up to 170 andgas mileage is important to youget the 3.73s
Well the stock gear ratio is 2.73 for the automatic I believe? So divide 4.1 by 2.7 you get approx 1.5. Now divide the top speed (170) by 1.5 and you get 113. That's approximately what your top speed will be with 4.10s. Now I am not sure about the stock gear size, and the maximum speed. I am just using the numbers that came to mind without verifying them. With 3.7's you should get around 125, which seems ok. I personally would go with 3.4's for me just because I don't want to see my engine revving up in high RPMs everytime im on the highway. But since you say you are doing a lot of city driving 3.7's might work well for you.
