I'm still learning about my sixxor, so I'm not entirely sure so please correct me if I'm wrong. I think the engines are all relatively rated the same, it's just different appearance packages?

And that's how I answered...I'm pretty aware there's a different between my 6 and an 8...

I think the SS might have a slight gain over the Z because of the extras that comes with it, but once again, not entirely sure.

I'm not sure about the lt1 but the ls1 numbers are, SS 320hp, Z28 310hp, and the RS model is only an appreance package on pre-1998 v-6 cars. Mechanicaly the only diffrence between a SS and a Z is the SLP intake and Exaust. Hope this helps.

Try hawksthirdgenparts.com they carry the SLP lid and the smooth bellows for like 200 bucks. You cant beat the bang for the buck, $200+30min. = 15 to 20 hp. Now hows about hookin us up with some pics

GM underrated both the SS and Z28 from the factory. They both made the same 350 horses that the corvette made. The SS has a couple "advantages", but to my knowledge the fastest 100% bone stock 1/4 pass was made by a Z28 (12.78).
