failed emmissions
they say that the egr works fine but its got alot of unburned gas. exhaust is magnaflow (unsure of exactly what it has but it does have a cat. kid I bought the car from says it has a lunati street cam, and it does have sort of a lopey idle so it may or may not, I dont know for sure.
I found it interesting that the emmissions guy said the egr works fine, because just after the valve the line is cut off and crimped. lol
no check engine light, and it seems to run good, but at 130,000 I guess it could use new plugs and wires. any other suggestions?

RE: failed emmissions
Your mechanic probably just looked at the scanner, and as long as the EGR pintle was able to move, it saw no problem. However, you should take down the EGR, clean the passages and put back all the wires and hoses where they belong. If the EGR is blocked/choked off there is a good chance the engine will fail the NOx portion of the test. A hotter cam with no tuning will probably fail the HC portion. New plugs & wires and injector cleaner may help.
