Default Fabricated radiator support brackets.

Just curious if anyone has fabricated a stronger bracket to help support the upper part of the radiator. I bought a new plastic shroud about a month ago and it's already cracked.

I own a 96 Z28. Though the previous owner had the engine rebuilt, that might have something to do with it.

It's the upper radiator supports. I'll snap some pictures as soon as I get the car back from the exhaust shop.

How are you installing the radiator? The service manual says you have to de-gas the a/c condensor and remove/install both condensor and radiator at the same time.

While this is not actually required, you have to bend the a/c pipes a bit to get the required clearence. Maybe there is a bend in how the condensor is installed causing the radiator to not be sitting properly??

I haven't removed it at all. It was already installed when I bought the car. The bottom of the radiator sits where it should.

bottom will fit in without it going in right, its how it mates with the a/c part that can get it all outa shape. found that with the 00 when i replaced the radiator, had to take the a/c condenser out part way to get it right. then the upper part fit perfect.

Here's the best picture I have at the moment. Top left part of the plastic above the radiator is broken. I've since replaced it and it just did the same thing.
