Exhaust suggestions
As i turn toward improving the exhaust I'm considering going flowmaster from the manifolds back.
Flowmaster introduced a direct fir cat with pipes in June, part number 2010045
then go from there back use the 17358 cat back system. This would replace everything from the manifolds back. Which on a 12 year old car is not a bad idea.
I've run the flowmaster cat back on a Mustang V6 and it had a decent sound on throttle but was quiet at cruising speed.
Looks like I can do it for around $650. Plus change the rear O2 sensor while it's apart so $700.
Thoughts?

First off what engine do you have? Have you searched because there are a lot of threads talking about the different. You tube is a great tool also the head what others sound like.

Just my opinion, It doesnt matter how old the car is becuase im pretty sure your stock exhaust is 100% stainless like the z28, so it wont rust. I've never heard an exhaust on a v6 that I actually liked. However, I would recommend SLP. They are a direct part supplier for GM, my catback was $375 free shipping. Now i do have the V8, but I know they make systems for the v6 also. Never been a fan of flowmaster, I think magnaflow is higher quality(Mario Andretti endorses them!!)

This -- what I have on my RS -- very good sound. I have yet to hear a 5th Gen Camaro V6 sound as good... sigh.

I can say from personal experience. Flow master sound great at Idle but it is VERY raspy over 2800 RPMs. The raspiness gets worse with a hi flow/delete cat. My car even developed a drone sound a 70 MPH that even bothered me.
Magnaflow does not have as nice a rumble at the low RPMs but sounds much better at the higher RPMs.

The only way you're gonna make a v6 sound good is with true dual exhaust and an H or X pipe like Socom suggested. I have a factory dual outlet z28 muffler and it sounds eh.. It sounds okay at best lol. Magnaflow, borla, and flowmaster will all sound like a$$ at mid to high revs. Heres a couple vids of true duals on a 3800 v6
H-pipe and borla xr1 multicore race mufflers dumped at the axle
H-pipe with borla turbo mufflers
X-pipe with magnaflow bullet mufflers dumped at the axle

you cant always go by the videos either, cause I did true duals magnaflow bullets with x pipe, in stock location with one over and one under the axle, sounded like an import in person. my friend in panama city fl has the exact same setup and neither sounded the same, his was more like the videos.
