Yeah that's the pics I was looking at. The t stat that I took out had bends in the bottom ring of the stat. I didn't really pay attention to the one I put it. I'm gonna take it back out when I get home to look at it.

Question. When installing an aftermatket gauge what needs to be done with the pcm? The gauge has its own sending unit attached. But doesn't the pcm run to the sending unit then to the gauge?

Maybe I am missing something but a aftermarket gage should be a complete stand alone system. Sending unit, wires, gage. It should not be connected to anything in the car except a power source and ground.

Yeah I know that. But I didn't know if the pcm was in any way connected to the ect sensor.

lt1 has two temp sensors, one on side of engine between 1 and 3 cylinders is for the temp gauge. one on the water pump supplies the temp info to the computer.

If ya wanna split hairs (or even if you don't), the one for the computer is a sensor, the one for the gauge is a sending unit.

OK cool. Thanks for the info.

Also, where would you suggest wiring in the back light for the gauge?
