Default engine is misfiring

Hi all, well this is my first camaro a 97 It started running real rough and the check engine light came on gave a p305 code. I'm gonna change the plugs and wires do you think this will solve it or is it something else that could be wrong. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Default RE: engine is misfiring

The code means that cylinder #5 is mifiring, check the plug & plugwire. If still bad check that injector # 5 is being fired,

Exactly, Pete. Do as suggested. Inspect the plug and notice whether it's gapped properly. Also check the no. 5 plug wire entirely. Rather, I'd go ahead and replace the plug. If this doesn't solve the problem, other, more involved problems lie ahead. 9 out of 10 times, however, when it comes to misfiring, hesitations, sputtering, and stumblings, the ignition system is at fault, not fuel or compression.
