Default Engine Help???

whats the easiest way to take out a lt1?

the bottom

disconnect the electrical from the computer and the grounds

disconnect your fuel and front brake lines

unbolt the struts from the towers

unbolt the 6 subframe bolts

and drop her down

there is a little more involved with it than that but with some basic hand tools and a engine lift its pretty easy. i had my LT1 out in about an hr and a half.

what about a way with out the lift? also taking trans out with it

out the bottom is still the easiest way. trans comes out with motor.

you need a cherry picker (engine hoist) to lift up the front end of the vehicle off of the engine/tranny

yes, the same type of cherry picker for yanking engines from the top

I suppose if you had the local weightlifting team over they could probably lift the front end off but it would be tough to work around all of those brawny women as they were holding up the front end
