Engine cranks but didn't start
I own a 1996 Camaro with a 3.8 that I've owned since 2009 which has never had any major issues.
Today I went to leave and the engine turned over but would not start. I tried it several times until the battery sounded like it was getting a little weak and I finally quit.
Approximately 5 hours later I decided to try and start it and it fired right up. I did this a few more times and every time it started immediately. No engine light has been on at any time and including now that it's starting. This has me completely baffled and would greatly appreciate any help.

It sounds like a bad fuel pump. Next time it will not start check to see if you can hear the pump running when your turn the key on. The other option is to just check the fuel pressure when the car will not start.
It could be other things but I would guess 95% of the time you have random hard to starts but once it starts everything is fine and no codes its a failing fuel pump.

not sure if just the check valve on pump ,try turning it the key 3 4 times without cranking starter ,then see if it starts ,it happen to me but was lt1 ,with mine the pump had to prime itself ,an drove like that for over a year without wasting battery or starter ,but yes most of listen for sound of pump
Good suggestion listening for the pump to 'hum' when ign key goes to IGN.
But how can you listen for pump humming when the security ding-dong is on?
Pump is only on for 2-3 seconds, ding-dong is on until engine starts.

You should hear it over that. Shut the door and reach in and turn the key to the on position, standing next to the tank should help you with this. Try it 5-10 times to verify
