I finally figured out what is causing the problems. The alarm was what was draining the battery. To the trash can with that thing.

The radio problem was more interesting and I'm posting it here to let other people know about what I discovered. It turns out that it was the sub woofer that was causing the problem. I wired it into the orange accessory wire under the console. I found a little blurb about that wire and thought it would be easier than routing a wire through the firewall to the battery. Well, somehow, that is causing the RAP module to go crazy. I'm going to reroute the power for the sub directly to the battery this week. Thanks Craby for all of your help. I appreciate that you have a lot of knowledge about these cars and took the time to reply to my problem. Thanks again.

Hi greenarrow. I just finished routing the power for the sub to the battery. That fixed the problem with the radio coming back on by itself. I don't know why that fixed the problem, but I suspect that the AUX circuit under the console was pulling too much current and messing up the RAP module somehow. The sub only draws 7 amps max and that circuit is rated at 15 amps. Maybe I just have a unique problem with that circuit, but maybe the information can help other people in the future.

This is an awesome forum! Thanks for keeping it going!

Do you have the remote wires working right? Does the amp and radio turn off when the key is removed?

Hi FlipSide. Yeah. Everything is working right now. I checked the current draw with everything off to make sure of that. It only draws 26mA for the clock.

Where is your ground located? Did you put it on an existing bolt or screw? And does everything work fine when the car is running?

I used the mounting bolts for the shoulder belts in the rear. Works like a charm.
