Egr diagnostic issues
I have the typical shuttering, shaking, rough idol, lacking MAJOR power.
Okay EGR valve for shure right? yeah diagnostic test her, EGR SYLINOID MALFUNCTION #1 #2 and #3
codes like 75 75 78. (something like that)
buy egr, grind **** of pipe seal, (adjoining surface of new egr)
blow out with air, set new gasket tighten on, re plug egr plug.
not a thing had changed whatsoever...
clear codes, go for a drive untill SES light turned on.
tested, same codes.
UGHHH!
wanted to disconnect all lines and rely clean them out, but the egr didnt come with those gaskets.
can i remove the egr and give her hell? leave the system open and rev, blow all the crap out?
very disappointing, runs like s***

The solenoid looks like this: http://www.rickscamaros.com/camaro-e...1993-1996.html
First make sure your connections are good, and you have no split or loose vacuum hoses.

EGR solenoid is what i ment i guess, I thought it was the same difference.
part according the the to the codes it was throwing (75 76 77)
3 pronged thing under the hood branching off the header.
correct part, wrong vocab.
could i test the entire circuit/ wires by testing the plug that connects on the top of the
solenoid?
because clearly that wasn't the problem. of course.

Now you lost me. In your first post you were describing an EGR valve replacement (pipe, grinding, blow with air, gasket), none of which you'd be doing with a solenoid replacement.

The Haynes manual states
"Problems with the digital egr control circuit or egr VALVE will set codes 75 76 or77"
while the actuall diagnostic tester states "egr SOLENOID malfunction" for those codes
so whatever. I got the wrong part.
any writeup you could post for me about replacing the SOLENOID?
and thank you very much for the help, I was lost after it didn't work.

yes!!! i read that somewhere, because i made shure i got the electronic one, it was hard to find in the parts stores around here.
it is the v6, 3.4 (sucks.. i wish i had lt1 on the brain)
so where does that leave me? thought about taking of throttle body and upper intake (penulum or whatever)
and cleaning them out. alot of work for something that might not work though ya know.
