Default ECM flash/ programming

My 1994 Camaro 3.4L 60 degree V6, 5-speed manual, is in need of a new ECM. I just received my Delphi certified remanufactured ECM yesterday and am ready to have it flashed and installed. All that needs to be done is to transfer the chip and then flash it correct? If there’s a sticky on this procedure I need it please. I can’t seem to locate one.

I suppose what I’m looking for is the actual gm program that loads into the ecm. I’m aware that there exists companies that manufacture software that enable the prom chip to be programmed. IM searching for the genuine gm program that uploads into the ecm when flashed....so it will pass smog.

I've never had experience doing this, but I believe you'll have to download those files from a GM Service Programming System site which I think will have fees for this. I've attached a copy of the Tech 2 scanner user guide that gives some information on how to do this. Check out the Service Programming System in section #8. If you don't have a scanner and cables, I would think a GM dealer should be able to do this. Hope this will point you in the right direction to find the information you're looking for.
