Dramatic drop in value?

I notice on the auction market,(Mecum,Barret Jackson) the LS1 with 6 speed is getting some attention. I think people are starting to realize the great value for the money the 4th Generation camaro is. I think in about 5 years you'll see a change, the LS1 with a 6 speed is the fastest car you can buy for the money.

Yes, but in 5 years your going to be dealing with GTO and G8's entering the lower end market. With LS1 motor being so hot I do not see the LS1 camaros falling anywhere near as fast as the rest. I know a LS1 Six speed went through the auction the other night. I should be able to see how it did on Monday.
I don't know if people in my area are just idiots, but they want big $$ for total crap fourth gens on craigslist...

Not a lot of info, Car did not meet reserve (it did not sell). Auction did not record the highest bid. I called a friend and he said he thinks it fell shy of 6 bucks ($6000)
2001 SS 6 speed 92K on the clock offered under a green light (meaning Clear title). Green light also means you can test drive the car and if you find anything wrong with it you can go to arbitration and get paid to repair it or back out of the deal. That could be just not the right people where there but it also means 200+ car dealers were not sure they could make any real money if they paid 6K for the car.
I did not see the car so if could have had comedic issues.

Funny reading this old post, 5 years later we are seeing LS1/6 speeds being bought so they can be stripped of their drive line. The LS1 cars are the only one's holding any real value. The nice part is a real 4th gen fan can put together a pretty reliable car on the cheap.

Regarding the value and price.
If GM cuts these 3 items it can lower the Camaro price. GM wants to lower the price of the Chevrolet Camaro SS to better compete with the Ford Mustang - and there are 3 clear ways to cut down the price without affecting the fun-to-drive factor of the car.

sold my 3800 for $2500.00 with no ac working ,needs a control arm ,dent fixed ,its pretty solid low mile though at 98k ,one things for sure there are way to many clunckers on criags list ,they love it ,an i wanted to find back yard mech who is going to fix it up for his wife ,so it will be gone in a few days ,2 years i got drove it ,so it was paid for. owed me nothing, guy is going to paint an fix the dent an other things AC just needs a charge ,i see a 89 iroc rag top clean car 42k miles ,all original,14k there asking best offer i think its way to much ,been there still there all summer ,the guy that pays like $7000.00 then asks $14.000 ,2 times what he paid with cars is just to much, for 14k i can find ,well i have seen a 2015 ss go for 15k at auction with those miles
