Default Dont know what to get

Hey I was a civic guy for the past 4 years and now I am getting into the camaro seen. I want it to be fast so I am looking for a Z28 or a cheap SS(probably wont find) that is a 6 speed(of course). I like the LS1 models but I think they are going to be too much for me...the LT1's are sweet. My cousin had a LT1 with Flowmasters and it was sweet. But Im also going for looks..you know the head turns. Let me know what you guys think I should do. Thanks for the input.

P.S. What I want to do to whatever I get:

SLP Loudmouth
Cowl Hood
2 Fat stripes
Lowered on springs

That is for starters......then Supercharger

well if your looking for low miles, than i would go with the 93-97 Z28 or SS, or even trans am.

98+99 LS1's you can find high mileage for around high 7's but they dont put out quite as much power as the 2000+ LS1's and dont last as long as the LT1's.

i would personally go with a 94-97 z28 or SS
that way you can get a low mileage (around50,000 miles) fast camaro, and still have money left to make it even faster. just make sure it wasnt beat on, get a mechanics opinion.

2000-2002 camaro Z28/SS go for around $18,000-25,000 for a well maintained car.

I guess I got lucky then, I found a 2001 Z28 for 13,000 with 24,000 miles on it and it is in great condition, but ya I would go with 94-97 z28, and good luck with finding one for a good price.

You mean 01/02 (the LS6 intake years) and as far as not lasting as long as an LT1 thats BS, I have seen LS1's with over 200,000 miles that run perfect. Hell mine had almost Zero wear when I took it apart at 70,000 miles. How long an engine lasts is more dependant on how it was maintained than anything else. FWIW I have seen 98-00 LS1 cars with 90,000 miles go for less than $8000. Also if you want to be as fast as possible get an auto with at least a 3500 rpm stall, it will be way faster than a 6 speed car. You can run well into the 11's with a cam only, bolt on, auto LS1.
