does this make sense to anyone?
im just taking a guess but does the cam position sensor have anything to do with the tachometer in my car not working? first of all my check engine light is on and i checked it with a scanner and it said something about the cam position sensor and also when i try to start my car i have to crank it 2 or 3 times to get it to start. oh by the way its a 1999 Z28 thanks
If the cam position sensor is not working correctly you're going to have a tough time getting the car to start. I'm surprised that it'll even fire with a malfunctioning cam position sensor. Replace it!
im replacing it today but i read somewhere on the internet that if your cam position sensor is malfunctioning then it may cause your tach not to work i was wondering if anyone else had heard this. thanks
yes the cam position sensor does have something to do with the tach read out i removed the intake and the sensor ended up not being plugged up at all. i dont know how that ended up happening but i made sure it was securly on there this time everthing works now and it saved me money so it all works out any way.
hey i had the same problem you might want to clean yur throttle body with some brake clean yeah BRAKE CLEANER it works good and drys fast! you might have some crap in yur engine so clean it out! also change the CPS c=rank sensor
[&:] please use throttle body cleaner to clean your throttle body they made it for a reason, its safe to run thru the engine. brake clean can contain chemicals which can damage plastics, seals, cats etc kurt
