Default desperate for help!!!

finally got the engine rebuilt and back in the car, but now it won't shift into gear while the car is running. it will shift with car off but if I try to start it in gear the car rolls forward or back even with the clutch to the floor. already bled the system and the clutch kit is brand new so I have no idea what could be wrong or what to do now. all I know is I want my car back!!!!!!

Well that sure sounds like a clutch issue to me...are you sure everything is set up correctly? Did the system bleed correctly (the petal doesn't just sit at the floor)? Are you sure the clutch fork is engaging the throwout bearing?

everything is installed right and the shift fork looked fine when the engine was out. I put in a heavier clutch kit than the factory one, are there adjustments that need to be made with a heavier clutch kit?

You shouldn't have to make any further adjustments. It sounds like the clutch isn't disengaging if the car rolls forward or backward when you try to start it in gear. This sounds like it could be an improperly bled system or improperly set up (i.e. the throwout bearing is not pushing against the pressure plate correctly and thus the clutch won't disgenage)

Is there alot of tension on the clutch fork. I had a scenario that the clutch fork came off the throw out bearing and reinstalled the tranny without realizing it. That sucked!!!! Had to drop tranny again to put it back on. You can get a cheater bar and check to see if you can manually move the throw out bearing directly with the clutch fork or if its just wedged in between.
