Cup holders

RE: Cup holders
from the sig, yours looks really shiny. and yea, i'd spend top dollar for a paint job, but most of the money the get comes from having to do inside of door sills, inside of door, under hatch, behind tail lights, under hood etc etc. if i got a black car, i would think i wouldnt have to do that, cuz it would actually look decent being black, with grey exterior paint(i'd make sure that it wasnt just like a random line and with a edge tho)... and usually a exterior paint job(usually to redo stock color) is around 1500.
any of you know what you have to do in order to get the VIN changed?

i was told that, atleast here in NY anyway, that if you change the color of your car, you need to change the VIN, becuase there's a color letter in the VIN.. i had 2 shop painter's tell me that. why i asked.

RE: Cup holders
Did their ears stink badly? Cuz that makes at least 2 painters in NY who have their head up their butts! The VIN # has no paint color designation, they may be thinking about the trim tag. Don't worry about it, cars get repainted different colors all the time and the tag doesn't need to get changed. Changing a trim tag for the sake of making it match the new color of the car still falls under the same mis-representation/felony/fraud category as a VIN tag.

aight. cool cuz i was afraid, they way they said it, is it is a long hassle of a process to change the VIN, but that it was necesary.. kinda thought it was odd, but they were both above 40 so, i didnt argue and kinda took there word.

The only reason I can see changing anything (not necessarily those codes) would be for insurance purposes. For some reason, atleast around here, I believe that red and black cars are slightly more to insure due to some bulls**t reason about visibility or whatever. It's like doing an engine swap in your car, your insurance can deny coverage if your car does not have the engine that your policy says it does.
