Default Cruise control doing its own thing

So I have got a 1997 Z28 now, it is great fun except for the cruise control is switching on and off when it feels like it - I have tried every switch to no avail!!!. is there a way of disabling it until better weather arrives so I can spend time figuring out where the problem is - unless of course there is a known issue!

Thanks
Steve

You should be to pull fuse #12 in the underhood fuse panel to disable the system. Be aware though that doing this will also disable the A/C compressor which supplies cold air for the windshield defroster.

Its been a while but I think the LT1 had a separate throttle body cable. You could just unclip that.
