Default Crank Seal Leak

Changed the timing cover and water pump on my 95 3.4, and cant get the crank seal to stop leaking. Its been changed 3 times now.. Was usually in a hurry so the motor was a little warm.. Anyone know the remedy?

Possibilities:
Broke seal while installing
Seal installed wrong
Wrong seal
Groove worn on crank nose, try a sleeve.

I'll add one to that. It is a ugly one. To much play between the sealing suface (the crank) and the seal mount (timeing chain cover). This would mean a failing front main bearing.

Incorrect instalation process/tool would be my number one guess with damage sealing surface (crank grooves) not too far behind.

Thanks guys. We'll be looking at it again this weekend. There wasnt any oil leaking from the crank seal before this repair (timing cover and w pump), but it could still be the front main bearing?

I would not think so. Normally a customer will start with a small leak we replace the seal it goes a way for a little but then comes back. Over time it get to the point a new seal will not even help. Without some other issue like the motor over heated or the oil pressure dropped I doubt its the main bearing. I was just throwing it in as it is possible.
