Unhappy Cooling fan not working, can anyone help?

I have a 94 Camaro 3.4 ltr v6, single fan. My cooling fan doesnt come on unless I turn on the a/c. It does come on when I disconnect the coolant temp sensor though. The temp gauge will warm to just below the 260 mark and the fan still doesnt come on. Its full of coolant and I have no idea what the problem with it is. I dont know a lot about cars, but if some one could give me some advice I would really appreciate it.

I know a manual fan switch is an option, but Im the type that would prefer to correct the problem if I can.

Also would I potentially mess something up if I allowed the temp sensor to stay unplugged so that my fan would run?

that sensor doesnt just run the fans. when u unhook it the computer will go into open loop and performance will suffer. test your sensor and see if its putting out the correct info.

Sensor seems to be working properly, any other ideas? Im completely stumped....

Why do these cars have so much fan trouble? Seems to be a common problem.

Also, I was told it may be my coolant fan switch. Can someone tell me where to find it?

there is a relay for the fans in the under hood fuse box. try switching with a known working relay. all of them except the abs relay should be the same.
