coolant level

It is that but the end that goes into oveflow isn't a hose. It's metal.

Should be able to remove the hose from the metal piece if I remember correctly. I'll have to look tomorrow, all ready pulled the car of the garage for the night.

It looks like 1 piece but wouldn't matter. The hose part is fine, the metal post bent in half at the crack it had and broke into.

as was explained, it's more of an expansion tank than overflow because coolant is also supposed to revert back to the radiator. It is bi-directional

But, if you are troubleshooting 4 ounces or more of coolant loss from the radiator then you are barking up the wrong tree thinking it's the expansion tank (it's referred to as overflow but it does more)

if it's more than 4 ounces then you need to find where the coolant is going

I get that. It's not THAT much coolant that is going down but regardless, this part has to be replaced.

the metal hose is no longer available. new rubber hose and try metal pipe with elbows on each end.
