Cleaning Intake
Halfway through swapping the plugs and wires....[:@]. Took off the throttle body while letting my arms heal! Noticed it and the intake have a lot of carbon buildup. Cleaning the TB by hand, but is there a good way to clean the intake WITHOUT taking it off. I used to see some spray stuff you could shoot into the TB while running and it would clean pretty good. Kinda hard to pour in seafoam at 90 degrees. Planned on running a couple tanks of cleaner in the gas, a cleaner on the next oil change and something in the intake...suggestions?
It really will not help and will look dirty in a few days again. This is due to the PVC system letting a tiny bit of oil vapor intot he intake. BTW if you remove the coil packs and the EGR tubes changing the plugs is much easier. HINT: leave off all but two coil pack bolts on each side when you re-install them, that way they come off in seconds next time.
Thanks! Busted a wire on the last plug...waiting for the new set to come in from Summitt. I'm hoping the slight miss I was hearing was from the plug wire that broke, cause I didn't pull hard at all and it snapped easy!!
