I just took the intake plenum off my 3.4. As long as I have it off, I would like to clean and shine it up a bit. I tried a wire brush, but it didn't work as well as I would have hoped. Anybody know any better way, i.e. special cleaners or whatever?

 

If you are really wanting it (the metal) to shine, it's gonna take alot of work. Sanding, and sanding, and sanding, and then some polishing. Another option is use the wire brush to clean off any loose debris/dirt, some engine degreaser to clean any gunk that has accumulated on the exterior of the manifold, then hit it with some hi temp rattle can paint, and some high temp clear. If you do it right, it will look pretty nice.
