Default "Check engine light"

My check engine light just dinged on all of a sudden while driving around. What should be my first check points?

take it to advanced auto and have them check it out with their scanner. its free so why not?
usually that will help solve your problem. any noticible signs when the light does turn on? loss of power? low voltage? fumes?

Definitely get it scanned. One possible scenario is a bad O2 sensor, but there are all sorts of possibilities.

How does one know if his '95 is an "OBD1.5"? Some '95s are and some aren't.

I found that out the hard way... the OBD1 and OBD2 jacks are basically the same, So i couldnt tell either. 95 was a transition year so you just gotta find the differences... If you can, take it to advanced and have them run codes. If they can, then it is OBD2. But if they cant, then your outta luck, then you gotta take it to a shop.
