Just curious. Why is the 1994 Corvette rated at 300 HP and Camaro at 275 ? Is the difference in tuning or are there hardware differences ? (Or are they the same HP, just for marketing reasons different ?)

 

I can not say for sure on the 94 but in previous years, the L98's, had different cams and bigger injectors. The corvette Lt1 was also a 4 bolt main. Some of the 4 bolt mains engine ended up in camaros but it certain years. Now if you the best factory Lt1 check out the the LT4. With is an LT1 4 bolt with head intake and Cam upgrades. The are LT4 6 speed in Camaros. In fact the LT4 camaro was rated at more HP then the LS1 Camaro

 

I believe it was the exhaust system on the Vette being much less restrictive.

 

Marketing reasons and always has been. GM wants their premium model to be the highest power.
