Default A/c help

I noticed, when i first turn my key on to start my car, the a/c compressor clutch engages for about 3 seconds. I dont think this is normal, is it?

Thanks, Craig.

Does your AC work? If so then it's normal to cycle to get rid of any excess condensation out of the condenser. It's only for 3 seconds so no need to worry about it.

Are you sure it's not the fuel pump you are hearing? When you turn the key to the on position the fuel pump turns on and can usually be heard.

Check your heater controls. If they are in the defrost position, that activates/cycles the air conditioning to remove humidity from the cabin.

it is for sure the compressor, and not the fuel pump. i unplugged the compressor clutch coil wire, so it would not engage.
