It's probably been 7 or 8 months since I did the re-solder repair shown in post #1- went from daily intermittent problem with windows & radio to absolute zero problem.

Thanks!

Check your repair job and make sure no solder flowed from one point to another one that it shouldn't be touching.
You did remember to reconnect the harness to the BCM?

My son didn't disconnect the battery when he unhooked the body control module the solder didn't flow over . Connected everything. Can you think anything else?

Default Body control mod

My 95 had the same issue. I found a replacement on eBay and had it ready when I over soldered. Got to know your limitations.

My 99 Z28 does sound like it has the BCM issue, however when the radio goes off I slap the dashboard and it comes back on? Do you think it might be a loose wire and if so how do I get to it to fix it? I am Not a car DIYer but I can follow directions and can use basic tools. I would have to have someone repair or replace the BCM if that is the problem but would like to start troubleshooting with the least expensive fixes first. Any advise you could give me? Also, Thank you for the reference to the Military as I am the Spouse of a Retired Navy Veteran.

i would suspect a problem in the radio itself or the wiring that goes to it. pull the radio and see if you can find any damaged or lose wires or connections.
