In that article it is obvious that the author, Zachary Coffey, has not studied these much; as he is confused about the "unexpectedly positive Amazon ratings" of the BAFX adapter. If he knew the facts it would be obvious why the ratings are high; that one works as advertised, while many others such as the Vgate one does not.
