Blown gasket symptoms?

I keep reading different things, some people say the oil will be frothy from coolant getting in it and that oil can't get into the coolant system. Others say that oil goes into the coolant and not the other way around....wouldn't both be possible? JW since I've been having some dumb-dumb-DUMB moments or lapses in thinking and have overlooked things on my end. Not wanting to thread-jack though.

The most common headgasket failure is the gasket blows between the coolant passage and a cylinder. The symptoms can vary greatly depending on how bad the gasket is blown even to the point there is almost no symptoms to a CHeck engine light coming on because there is so much coolant in the cylinder that the plug can not fire right.
Just do a search on you tube for testing your headgasket with a coolant pressure tester and borrow a coolant pressure tester from autozone. (I have posted a link to a good video a few times on here just no time right now)

Could head gasket leaks suck in excess air? I'm getting excess air from somewhere contributing to a rough and high idle and thought this could be it. I also have misfires but haven't checked the plugs yet I'm doing that later this wknd. Cap/rotor and plugs. Then compression test.

No your head gasket will not suck air. I guess technically it can but that would mean the compression chamber had access to air which would mean fire shooting out of the side of your motor every time that cylinder fires. Air leaks are more likely intake/accessory related.
