Smile Blown Engine Suggest the Best Alternative ??

Those are a few days of greef were an ls1 breaks down !! .....

The Garage owner offered to replace my engine with a C5 ls1 engine !!

is the corvette engine any stronger than my camaro ls1 engine ??

Suggest the best Direct Fit Engine PLEASE !!

I Understand Camaro's ls1 stock engine produce 305hp z28 & 320-25hp on SS while on c5 corvette's its 345-350hp .... I guess C5 wins ??

The regular LS1 engine is actually underrated. It produces closer to, correct me if I'm wrong, 340-350 horsepower. Chevy gave out wrong numbers on purpose. Why buy a Corvette when you could get a Z28/SS for half the price with the same horsepower?

As David said, they both make the same numbers. The Corvette is a faster car because it's quite a bit lighter, but the motors are almost identical. The F-body LS1 had a slightly different cam shaft. Some speculate this gave it more HP than the Corvette LS1, but dyno numbers are very similar stock for stock between the cars. Needless to say, any LS1 is going to drop right in and give you the same power.

LS1 and LS6 are going to be a direct fit. The Gen IV motors could have slightly different sensor locations etc.
