Hey guys, my girlfriend got me a beltronics V955 radar detector which is supposed to be a pretty good setup, but i've never had a radar detector before and had a question. It says that it picks up X, K, Ka, and laser operating bands. Now does this mean that it picks up all of these frequencies, or you have to set it toa specific one? anyone have any feedback on this model? I checked it out on radarbusters and it got a good review from radar roy, who scored it only a few notches below valentine 1 overall, and in somespecific areasscoring higher. thanks.

 

It means that it picks up all of them. I've never gotten hit with 2 types at once (or not to my knowledge), so you really don't have to worry about that. I'm not sure about that specific model, I have an Escort Passport X50 and it's probably saved me more than once...

haha, mine does a good job of finding gas stations, lol, if im low on gas nd i here a beep its a good sign, lol, theres also an autozone that it spazzes off when i go by it, but have you seen those illegal ones that actually block the cops radar so they cant clock you, those things are crazy

 

Don't feel bad, mine does a great job of finding every Walgreens, Checker Autoparts and gas stations, stupid K-band! We need that new Passport that has GPS and blocks all false alarms because it remembers them.

 

Lol, radar detectors are worthless...you'd be better off buying a dozen donuts
