Default Beep

Yesterday I revved the engine on my 94 camaro lt1 and it died.
I tried to restart it but it would only crank and sputter a bit.

Now this morning when I crank it I get a weird single beep that last less that a second. It sounds like it is coming from the steering wheel area.
I hear the fuel pump working. Any suggestions.

I do have an ignition interlock device installed but it appears to be working but I don`t know if it is making my car not start. The strange beep is what has me confused.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

After reading a little I understand that if it were the ignition interlock it would not turn over which mine does so I guess that rules that out, (mostly)

Well its time to tear into this thing anyway and fix front seal replace o2 sensor oput on the new fenders so I`m guessing my optispark finally failed from the oil. or it could be the oil soaked plug wires. We shall see. I just never heard that beep before and hoped someone could shed light on its cause. I will be outdoors in the northwes so Im gonna be wet and cranky. lol

i would suspect a aftermarket thieft system. dont know of anything that would do that in a 94, scann for trouble codes if you can. 94 can be a pain to find a scanner that works on it. could be opti. have you looked here. https://camaroforums.com/forum/lt1-l...37/#post579761

Yea I`m wondering if I can rent a code reader before I go nuts but I have to tear the front end apart anyway I have pretty much just been waiting for it to force my hand and it did, lol It did chow a check engine light so There is prolly a code there.I really need to fix that leaky seal though so I will just tear into it and work my way out from there. Thanks for the link and anti theft tidbit

could be a fuseable link, I've had one go before and got a beep as soon as I put the key in but no power to cockpit or engine start. Do you have power in the cabin?

Now that I think of it I wonder if the broken motor mount may have taken the ground out. I cant keep motor mounts in this thing and I really dont rod it enough to warrant this kind of failure. Plus the doors are crappy. Other than that and the opti spark farting out three times I love the car. I must It has not been melted down yet.

you may want to move that ground on the motor mount to another location. check your ground strap on the other side that goes from the frame to the motor. how the heck are your braking motoro mounts. i can see a trans mount but the motor mounts are clamshell so very hard to brake.
