Double check what your gauge is showing against a test meter at the battery. Your "high quality factory" dash gauge could be lying to you.

a lot of folks seem to be having this issue as well...could it be the stock wires have reached the end of its lifespan? still haven't cured my volts issue either...

I wouldn't be to concerned. No car shows full charge.

Remember, the meter indicates an acceptable indication of the electrical system status.
Any indication in the middle and to the right of middle is acceptable.
As suggested, always check with a known multimeter for the definitive value.
