Balancer Installation
Hey guys,
Okay I have to pull my harmonic balancer to replace my crank sensor this weekend as the thing is idling up around 2000 rpm and from what I've read if the lower crank sensor is out the computer keeps the revs up above 2000 at idle because at that point the computer can "see" the rpms from the upper sensor. In any event pulling the balancer seems straight forward enough. Jam a screwdriver into the fly wheel teeth and turn the balancer bolt counter clockwise to get it off and use a balancer puller. The question I have is how do I get the thing back on gracefully. I mean if it takes that much effort to get the thing off there must be some sort of trick to getting it back on. Any suggestions? I appreciate you're help this is a great site for the DIY guy who's holding onto his Camaro longer than it was intended to last. Ha! Ha! Thanks in advance.
