Default Bad sound coming from my camaro. Help!

Ok, so my 3.4 V6 camaro started making a..squeaky..noise. I can't figure out what it is though. I can even hear it over my new exhaust system. Needless to say, I can't feel very awesome in my baby driving down the road with this annoying noise.

It starts to squeak when I turn the car on, and it seems to get louder as I accelerate. Here is the weird thing, every once in awhile it will stop altogether.

I need some insight guys, please help my baby sound good again.

Also, I took the time to upload a 30 second video showing exactly what is happening. Hope it helps.

Well, you've probably come to the conclusion that it's coming from either the alternator, A/C or PS pump. I don't know the under hood of the sixer but if the alt belt is separate from the P/S and A/C, undo the belt for the A/C and P/S and try it. If the noise goes away, you know it's one of the 2. If it doesn't, then it's the alt.

You could also try an engine stethoscope (about $10 on line) to pinpoint the noise.

It takes a trained ear to be able to pinpoint which one of those rascals is making the noise because it's loud under the hood..

could also be the tensioner if there is one on a v-6.could try a piece of hose to your ear and try to determine which it is

if its power steering the noise should change when u turn the wheel. i would look to the tensioner. try squrting a small amout of lubricant on it and see if the noise stops or changes. if so thats the problem part. try not to get it on the other things that need checked.

It's really hard to judge from the video. You have been feeding the chipmunks haven't you?
The squeak sounds familiar to when I've had a noisy A/C clutch. With the engine off, you can try squirting a little oil on the clutch between the inner and outer housing (where it free-wheels when unlocked between the inner hub and outer pulley). If it quiets down, you've found your squeaker.

Well, I will probably have to wait to switch anything out. Saving for motorcycle atm. T_T As long as it isn't actually affecting the camaro I can live with it for awhile. Thanks for all the help thus far.

Have you never heard the old saying

"the squeaky wheel gets the grease" ?

The noise is telling you something, to ignore it would be unwise.

Bump for more solutions. I can't afford to just swap parts out. :3 Does anyone need anymore information about the problem before they can help?
