Default Bad Battery Terminal

I have been having issues with my car. It has been hesitating while driving and will die when I start to slow down and/or stop. I haven't put any money into it yet because since I got the car so cheap, I try to do everything else since I will soon be going to school to become a certified mechanic anyhow. Anyways, the other day I decided to disconnect the battery to reset the computer thinking it was possible that when I switched the MAF around and changed the manifold gasket the computer became confused. When I was doing this I noticed that the black battery terminal was stripped out and would not tighten all the way. Today when I went to get in the car and I turned the key, nothing happened; at all. No lights, radio, air, or even a crank. So I opened my hood and pressed on the battery terminal and the car started right up. My question is, could a loose battery terminal cause hesitation while driving? This is probably a no brainer question, but I like to get second, third, fourth, etc.. opinions on everything I do. Thanks!

Since you are mentioning a MAF sensor I am going to guess you have an LT1 under the hood. The battery would prolly not cause the hesitation unless you were losing things like the gauges, radio and other electrics at the same time.

Do you have a CEL and if so what is the code?

Things that can cause the car to hesitate are, plugs, wires, opti, MAF/MAP low fuel pressure, clogged cat just to name a few.

No CEL, no cat, its not the opti because the problem hasn't gotten worse. It happens at the most random times. I suppose the guy I bought it from could have put hot NGK plugs instead of cold which from what I understand could give me the problems I'm having.
