bad alternator?
Ok long story short about 2 months ago my alternator went out and replaced it with a refurbished one for o'rilleys. Ever since then the problem is when I turn the A/C on it will show on the battery gauge thats next to the oil and all those guages is draining very fast. If I sit as a stop light or another place with the A/C on for more than 2 min or so I assume it will die. Never had it happen tho. The weird thing is as soon as I move it moves back to where it should be. Also even without the A/C on, waiting in line at my brothers school for about 10 min without moving it started to go down to the red again.
Could it be I just got a bad alternator or maybe a connection somewhere. Bc I brought the battery down to o'rilleys a few days ago and it was right where it should be. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Well I'm not seeing the size of it anywhere. I can tell you its an ultima 01-1751.
And yes I replaced the fully also with whichever one they gave me.
Are you thinking the pulley may be a little lose? Replace that first then do the alternator?

Check the wiring for the Alternator's trigger. It is the small wire going into the plug. That routs into the same part of the harness that the A/C goes into. if they are shorted it can cause your A/C Alt issues.
Massey
Massey
thats a 102 amp alternator, shows that is ok for 98-02 camaro. i would recomend a 140 amp one. do what massey is saying. check the small exciter wire and make sure its not grounding or is partly cut.
