My '02 has automatic headlights so I can't turn them off. ( Thats apparent? ) Anyway I have really expensive bulbs in my car and I don't see the need to use my headlights if I can see 500ft in front of me. Is there any way to turn off the headlights other than using the e-brake?

Not sure if this will help you much, I don't know from personal experience how to disable them because mine are not, but there's a start. Every website I checked so far has almost the exact instructions on how to do it.
