Hi i am new....first post actually and i have looked for an answer to this and was unable to find it! I was sure itd be a sticky somewhere but i havent seen it so im sry if its already been posted please direct me! when i start my car the doors lock automatically and this generally isnt a problem unless you are like me and live in indiana where its cold and you go out open your door lean in start the car shau the door and go back inside for 10 min then when ya come back out your car is warm and running but unfortunatly u cant get in it! Please someone tell me how to bypass this feature.....i DO NOT wanna just take out the fuse as some sites have suggested.....there has to be one of those weird turn the key hook the seatbelt flash the light codes! Thanks!
On some vehicles, there is a way to set the locks by inserting key in ignition and doing a song and dance per the operators manual but you would need to find the operators manual for your particular vehicle and see if it tells you how to disable the auto lock.
Depending on what year. Up to 95 check the RAP module; 96 and newer, check the BCM (Body Control Module). Or you can always use your spare key to unlock the door. Hopefully, you don't have an add on alarm to cause confusion.
o sry it is a 1995. I have the manual and i never thought to look to see if there was a code in there. As far as i am aware the car does not have an aftermarket alarm, and i do not have a fob for the doors or nething like that. and i know that most automatics lock when put in gear but this one locks as soon as u start the car, and i do keep an extra key for emergancies but its a pain in the a$$ to have to dig in my wallet to get the spare key when its 10 degrees outside!
