Posi (shorten from POSITRACTION) is the same as a LIMITED SLIP rear. Better to some checking on that Auburn LS from the Caprice will even work in a 7.625 10-bolt rear.

yea, i know that LS is the same as PosiTrac, i have done a bunch of dealings with truck rearends (Gov-Lok) so i do know a little. I have swapped an Auburn diff into a 83 6.2 diesel halfer that was rolling a stock 8.5" open.

what i was wondering though, was is the differential housing the same for the 7.625" and the 8.5" rearends.

Why are you putting this rear end into your Camaro? Just wondering.

i want to have both tires spinning in my car when it is running. both for resale value and personal driving.

right now any launch over 1600 gets the ONE tire spinning like crazy.

I've been thinking of putting in the same rear end into my car because I read that this rear end is a very good inexpensive alternative to the 12 bolt rear end.
