Default Another stereo question.

I have a 94' Camaro convertible and my girlfriend got me a new head unit. The guy at best buy told me I had to run new wires and get new speakers. Is this true? I'd like to get new speakers but can't afford them now, should I just wait and upgrade everything at once? If possible I'd like to just do the head unit now and speakers later. Also the rear speakers do they have to be special ones, I believe the stock are slightly skinnier to clear the convertible top assembly when it retracts.

Do you have the Bose system? If not than your fine with the stock wiring and speakers. And yes you need low profile speakers for the rear. I put regular speakers in my vert, the hydraulic rams destroyed them, luckily I was friends with the speaker shop guys and they replaced them.
