Alright, I have a 2000 Camaro.

I am going to be purchasing a sub/amp/box combo at the end of this week and honestly have no idea what to look for..

I listen to mostly rap music but I also don't need to have a system that you can hear 25 blocks away.

I noticed the sub enclosures for the area behind the left rear tire area in the hatch, but have no idea if they are actually good quality and I would prefer a 12, but have no idea if they make the stealth enclosures for 12's.

I have been looking at a 10" Alpine type-R for my sub of choice but I am very open to everyone's suggestions because i'm sure many people know much more than I do about stereo equipment.

I have an aftermarket deck already (200W) so now i'm just looking for the sub/amp combo to finish the system. $ is somewhat of an option but i'm looking in the neighborhood of 300-500 for the sub/amp/box.

So if I could get some feedback on that it would be great, thanks in advance.

 

i'd go dual 10s or single 12 for a nice, non earth quake making, system. look at a 12" Diamond D3. power it by a memphis 16 PR1.500 amp. i'd try to get the D3 in a dual 2 Ohm coil, but if you cant, dual 4 ohms will work fine.

 

For your price range before i upgraded to the soundstream t4 tarantula series which are great speakers. I had 2 square 12 in pyle red label series subs in my 95 camaro. I was like most people and thought it would suck since it was by pyle but it is actually loud for the money. You can buy one for $35.00 on ebay. You would need to get 2 and put them in a good box. The amp is a pyle red elite series mono block 2400 watt amp and its about $200.00. You are probably only getting about 1000 rms with both speakers because they rate their stuff in max wattage. Even though the speakes say they are 1400 watts a piece. Alpine is a good speaker company but you are paying more for the name. They are also known more for clarity than they are bass.
